Success in the make, move, sell industries is not a solo endeavor. From building a business from the ground up, to working with your ERP provider to discover the right tools to make every day easier, productivity is fueled by shared purpose and enriched by community.

When we work with our customers, we go beyond daily metrics and explore how we can help each company best use our solutions across the organization: simplifying business processes, improving efficiency, and empowering customers. One of the many benefits of community building is that its results are ongoing. As we support our Epicor customers, they in turn are well-equipped to support their customers: those at the crucial end of the supply chain who buy and use the things we all need.

Those businesses who step up to make a bold change—migrating to a new solution deployed in the cloud, implementing a new ERP system across multiple sites, adding additional tools to their existing Epicor system—know that from the first day they log on, they are now part of the Epicor community. They know that we will uplift their voice, hear their ideas, and use their direct input to drive value and serve them better.

In Their Own Words

When community is done well, the members within it are eager to share their success. Our Epicor customers are no exception. Ryan Durrant, ERP Developer at Progressive Technology, is just one example:

"It’s been really fantastic coming to Kinetic as a new user,” he says. “The system has so much to offer that it can seem daunting at first, but a combination of a user-friendly interface, comprehensive documentation, and such an active community has really thrown the doors wide open…I have been able to make great use of features such as the incredibly powerful REST APIs, setting up functions to act as consistent endpoints for integration and UI tests, and leveraging method directives to automatically process information. This has enabled functionalities that allow the team to really push the boundaries of what the system is able to do, and allowed us to be responsive and proactive to enable the business to dream bigger and better."

From dreaming bigger to everyday small advantages, community matters. For Carolyn Tobinson, owner of Tobinson Ace Hardware, having the tools to connect with employees and review store data from anywhere was key to maintaining consistency and keeping in touch. “Being able to access Propello from anywhere and maintain platform uptime even during a power outage, via a hotspot on our phones, had me sold,” she confirms. “That type of reliability and anytime access is huge for a retailer, and we were excited to be one of the first Ace stores to make the shift. The day we went live on Propello, we had Epicor support on-site, standing with us at the registers. All our employees could jump in and use the system, with cashiers up and running that morning.”

Fostering Global Connections

Finally, existing community members discover that the Epicor community extends beyond their warehouse or shop floor—it is worldwide. Events like Insights, the flagship gathering exclusively for Epicor existing and prospective customers, offer the opportunity to share ideas with colleagues and hear from leadership and industry experts about all things Epicor. For Ryan Scriven, IT and Systems Manager for Volgren, Insights provided the perfect amount of confirmation and community input to help him make a confident decision:

“We went to the Epicor Insights conference—which I recommend to anyone who is looking at Epicor,” he says, “and we spoke with the Epicor Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) developer and realized it was exactly what we needed. There has been no looking back. Our CFO is very, very happy with it. We’ve been able to take a closer look at purchasing and drill down into where our price breaks are and where they should be. With this information, over a year, we could save six figures quite easily.”
